James B. Linton's Obituary
James Burton Linton passed away on October 27, 2010 in the comfort of his own home with his loving wife, son and daughter-in-law by his side. He was born in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, Canada on September 28, 1924 and has resided in San Diego since 1957. Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley (Harrison), who has been his soul mate for 54 years; his son, Dale (Carole) of Grassie, Ontario, Canada; two grandchildren , Troy (Michelle) of Smithville, Ontario and Tina of Vancouver, British Columbia and one great granddaughter, Ivy. He is also survived by his siblings, Glenna Harding of Trenton, Ontario; Ronald Linton of Linton Corner and Joyce McCurdy of Dalhousie, Canada plus several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, one sister, one sister-in-law and three brothers-in-law. Jim was a truck driver for California Motor Express for twenty-three years where he was referred to as “Iron Man” by his co-workers. He loved plants and flowers and spent many hours working with Shirley in their beautiful gardens. His love touched many of his friends and family and he will be remembered forever in our hearts. A memorial service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 4th at Greenwood Memorial Park with inurnment immediately following.
