James McCauley Obenschain's Obituary
Celebrating the life of James Obenschain. He was born on May 10, 1929 in Stanton Virginia. He was the first born of three children. His parents were James and Forrest Obenschain. His sister is Mary Roadcap and brother David Obenschain. He was married to Teruko Watanabe during the Korean war in Okinawa, 1954 and was married and devoted to her for sixty years. He is survived by five children Mary Isono (deceased). Peter Obenschain, Susan Dawson, Pamela Wesley and Edna Gillum. Three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He served in the USAF from 2/9/51 to 11/26/54. He attained the rank of Airman 2nd class. He received the Korean Service medal, the National Defense medal, Good Conduct medal and the U.N.Service Medal. He worked for Gulf Atomic and General Dynamics for 50 years as an engineer on nuclear fuel contracts. He loved life. Was generous, intelligent and always putting others above himself. He loved his family, God and country. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, travel and music. He was a member of the East Clairemont Southern Baptist Church. He was a devoted and loyal member of the John Birch Society for 60 years.
