Hello family, I'm Cora Lee from N.Y., Janie's cousin. We always stayed in touch with each other, even when miles separated us. The distance didn't matter. We loved and cared about each other. We found great joy in conversations about our families, about her grandson having an old soul and how Doug had fixed everything in the house during the pandemic lockdown. Janie laughed and said, "All these years I never knew he was such a handy man!" We had a good laugh about that. Another time, when she told me her daughter Ranni was moving to Las Vegas she said, "She doesn't know anyone there." I reminded her that I said the same thing to her when she moved to San Diego. After a few seconds she started laughing, remembering our conversation. Janie always talked about how much Chelsea looked like her grandmother. Janie got so much joy from her family.
I'd like to express my admiration for the woman Jane Mae became. She was smart, ambitious, and had a deep sense of the importance of family. I remember the New Year's message that she sent me. She was so glad that she made it to 2023. Rest in peace Janie.
Much love,
Cora Lee

To the Lacey Family,
I want you to know that others share your lost even if we are not there with you all. I will keep the family is in my prayers. My memories of Jane is when I would come to New York to visit aunt Oneal, aunt Sallie and uncle James for the summer. She would always find a way and time to see me.
