Jeremiah D. O'Toole's Obituary
Jeremiah Dennis O’Toole was born March 25th 1929 to father James Francis O’Toole and Mother Bessie May Leonard. Jerry had four siblings, older brothers Francis(Frank), James, Eugene(Gene) and younger sister Vanessa. Jerry and Vanessa were born on their Uncle Joe’s farm in Billings, Montana.Growing up on a farm was not easy, when Jerry was 3 years old he fell hands first into an ash bin by the stove, severely burning his wrist. Frequent visits to the doctor meant long horse drawn carriage rides into town. Jerry was reluctant to make his doctor appointments but even more reluctant to do his chores and would frequently hide atop train cars until the chores were done.Jerry married Ethel May at the age of 17, Ethel gave birth to Lynn. Jerry later married Ingrid after meeting in Hawaii while he was in the navy. They had two children, Patrick and Kathryn. Ingrid also had a daughter by the name of Rosie. After Ingrid died, Jerry married the only other O’Toole in the neighborhood, Patricia. They happened to be next door neighbors. Patricia also had a daughter, Moira. Jerry had 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Jerry treated his extended family no different than his immediate family. He was a Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather to all and loved them all equally.Jeremiah O’Toole saw the world change in many ways, from a small farm in Montana to the world of modern technology we live in today. Although much had changed in his lifetime it had no affect on his sense of humor, compassion and stoic nature. He didn’t mince words and he most definitely didn’t complain, he was the type of man that is few and far between these days. He will be missed by many but remembered by many more. Those left to cherish Jeremiah’s memories include daughters; Roswitha Schwab, Lynn Ashbridge, Moira O’Toole, & Kathryn English. He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick O’Toole.Surviving Grandchildren include; Paul Schwab, Brian Schwab, Jennifer Schwab, Jacob O’Toole, Jeremiah Bryant, Ryan O’Toole, Brett Payne, Cassandra Payne, Dorian Payne, Caitlin Petrimoulx11 Great Grandchildren
