Jerral Bob Staples' Obituary
Jerral (Jerry) Staples, 80 of Bonita, CA went to see his Lord on Saturday, March 18, 2017 following a brief illness.He leaves his wife of 46 years, Dorothy (Dotsie) Staples; his two sons Bryan and Jimmy; daughter in laws Robyn and Mandie; six grandchildren, and countless others who he was blessed to have them call him Dad, Grandpa and Friend.Born in Lamar, MO. to Jesse and Hilda Staples; they headed to San Diego via a short stent in the Los Angeles area. Jerry Graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955 and went on to San Diego City College where he excelled in drafting. After being drafted to serve in the United States Army he returned to San Diego and continued his work as a Design Aerospace Engineer.Throughout Jerry’s life he attended church where he fell in love with a young school teacher, Dotsie Clark, who later became his wife. They lived together in National City and later moved to Bonita in 1975.You could see Jerry at countless football, volleyball, and water polo games cheering on his sons and their fellow Barons. You would also be able to find him each Sunday at Bonita Valley Baptist Church. After church, he would go to the Bonita Golf Course for brunch.Jerry had a passion for his Lord, family, friends, sports, and cars. He will be missed by all who knew him and will be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery on March 31, 2017.See service details below.
