Jesus Hector Lora's Obituary
Jesus Hector Lora passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, in the home of his daughter. He was 84 years old and joined his beloved wife Maria of over 57 years.
Jesus was born on February 5th, 1941, in the mountainous village of Tameapa in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico. His mother moved him and his sister to the capital city of Culiacan, Sinaloa where he lived until he was 16 years old. In search of more opportunities, Jesus headed to Tijuana, Baja California where he worked as an auto mechanic. He secured United States residency and then headed to Los Angeles, California. Upon arrival Jesus was drafted and served in the U.S. Army. After his military service concluded, he made occasional leisure trips to Baja California where he met the love of his life, Maria. They moved to Culiacan, Sinaloa and created lifelong memories during their early years together. After starting a family, they moved to San Diego, California where they would settle and spend the rest of their lives.
In San Diego Jesus worked at a naval shipyard as a sandblasting foreman for over 20 years. He went back to school in his 60’s and attended Southwestern College and San Diego City College. He became an alcohol and drug abuse counselor for a brief period of time until his final retirement.
Jesus was a life-long baseball fan, heading a semi-professional team in Culiacan and always rooting for the Los Angeles Dodgers until the day he parted. He was an avid reader, a hobby he always promoted to his children. Jesus loved spoiling and spending time with his grandchildren. He also took delight in watching his great-grandchildren play.
Always lively in spirit and personality, Jesus was a very jovial person who loved having music around. A very giving person who prioritized family unity. Those who knew him remember him with a smile and have lively memories of him. Later in life, Jesus became a devout Christian, something he faithfully practiced for many years.
Jesus Hector Lora was predeceased by his parents Francisco Lora and Santa Ana Angulo along with his beloved wife Maria Lora. He is survived by his sister Delia, his two children Hector and Ana, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life gathering on Saturday, April 5th from 1pm to 7pm with a service at 3pm. It will be held at Latinoamericana Recinto Funeral located at Avenida Arias Bernal No. 133 Zona Norte, Tijuana, BC, Mexico.
