Jesus Ramirez's Obituary
Jesus Ramirez was born on July 8, 1927 in the State of Guerrero, Mexico. His parents were Ruperto and Conseulo. Jesus was the 6th of eight children. He lived in Guerrero until his early teens and moved closer to Mexico City. There, Jesus pursued a career in Engineering. At a young age, Jesus was hired by the Federal Government of Mexico as an Engineer. His job took him to numerous work sites located throughout Mexico. His final destination/destiny in Mexico was the City of Mexicali where he eventually met his wife, Josefina Diaz.In 1972, Jesus purchased his home in San Diego. There, he raised his children, Francisco, Carmen and Elvira. He took on a career as a building estimator for a construction company until he retired at the age of 70. After retirement, Jesus continued to stay busy by working part-time. He also served his community by working among other retirees whom distributed publications to sites dedicated for seniors.Jesus was Catholic and attended masses on Sundays. His special friends included Rudy and Carmen Estolano.His favorite sports were Pro Wrestling, Boxing, Soccer, and Baseball. Jesus enjoyed playing the Acoustic Guitar and was an excellent Billiards/pool table Player. One of his passions was to use his engineering/construction skills to improve not only his own home but also the homes and businesses of others.Some of the most important events in his life were: marrying his soulmate, Josefina; raising his children in San Diego; earning his U.S. Citizenship; being a member of a construction team that built a complete house in the (1981) world record time of 4 hours 18 minutes; encouraging his wife’s success as a small business owner; Also encouraging his eldest daughter’s, Elvira, successful business career and his youngest daughter’s, Carmen, career as a medical assistant; witnessing his son, Francisco, serve the community as a Sheriff’s Deputy; the births of his grandchildren, Vanessa, Christina, Kylie and Ryan; surviving a triple bypass surgery two years ago; learning of his grand-daughter’s, Vanessa, acceptance into a highly recognized law school; having the opportunity to spend time with his granddaughter, Christina, and at the same time, meeting his great-grandson, Kaleb, for the first time.His favorite past times: During his younger years, Jesus and his wife would travel to places such as Las Vegas and different parts of Mexico. In his later years, he enjoyed his weekly outings with Josefina to the Sycuan Casino on Sundays. Every Saturday, he enjoyed spending time with his son, Francisco. In 2007, Jesus went on a cruise with his family.Jesus was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He always put his family first. He was an excellent provider; he was kind, selfless, loving and humble. He taught his family the meaning of strength, compassion, hard work, perseverance, integrity, honor, and respect. But most of all, he showed unconditional love.
