Jesus Rios-Manzo's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Jesus "Chuy" Rios-Manzo
Jesus "Chuy" Rios-Manzo passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, in Menifee, California, at the age of 76. He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, enduring love, and a legacy built on family, hard work, and kindness.
Chuy was born in Michoacán, Mexico, to Octaviano Rios-Mandujano and Catalina Rios-Vega. At just six months old, his family moved to Tijuana, Baja California, before later settling in Merced, California. Eventually, the family returned to Southern California and made their home in San Ysidro, where Chuy would spend his formative years and eventually graduate from Mar Vista High School.
Throughout his life, Chuy was known as a strong-willed man with a generous heart and an unwavering devotion to his family. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed, valued, and included. Whether family, friends, or strangers, anyone fortunate enough to earn his friendship quickly became part of his extended family.
In his later years, Chuy found peace and happiness on his three-acre ranch in Valley Center, California. He took great pride in raising his chickens and enjoyed the simple pleasures of ranch life. He loved traveling to Hawaii, one of his favorite destinations, and could always be found cheering on his beloved San Diego Padres and Chargers whenever they played on television.
More than anything, Chuy loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose strength, guidance, and unconditional love touched the lives of everyone around him.
Chuy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Olivia Rios, and his cherished daughter, Daniela Palos Rios.
He is survived by his son, Jesus Octavio Rios II; his daughter, Sonia Aguilar; his brother, Jorge "El Chaparrito" Rios; his grandchildren, Victor Aguilar, Alessandra Palos, Isaac Palos, Natalia Rios, and Giovanni Rios; along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Though Chuy is no longer with us in person, his love, wisdom, and the countless memories he created will live on through all who knew him. His legacy is one of resilience, generosity, and family—a legacy that will continue for generations to come.
"A life well lived leaves footprints on the hearts of those left behind."
