Jo Warner's Obituary
Marianne Jo Warner “Jo” as most knew her passed away in Carlsbad, California on October 2, 2018 at the age of 93. Jo is survived by sons Lee Worthy and wife Janet, Ken Warner and wife Marsha and Rick Warner and wife Winona, daughter-in-law Charlene Worthy and brother Richard Klepper. Jo had many nieces, nephews and cousins. “Grandma Jo” as she was known to her grandchildren is survived by eight of her nine grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by son Claude Worthy, grandson Doug Worthy and brothers Don Klepper, Ken Klepper and sister Beth Gage. Jo was born on December 4, 1924 in Pawnee, Nebraska to Herbert E Klepper and Helen Hatch Klepper. She moved, from Nebraska, with her family, first to Kelso, California and then to southern California. Jo met Fred L. Worthy in southern California and married Fred in 1948. They lived in Los Angeles for a few years and then moved to Whittier California in 1955. They moved from Whittier in 1972 to retire in Lake Havasu, Arizona. They moved back to Hemet in 1974. She was widowed in 1976. Jo met Walter G. Warner in Hemet and married Walt in 1979. Jo and Walt traveled extensively in their travel trailer visiting 49 states and Canada. She was widowed form Walt in 1998. Jo was a 42-year resident of Hemet, California. Jo was accomplished at sewing, crochet and often could be found making her own clothes. She was also an accomplished baker and cook. She was a good friend and loved her family. Jo loved playing dominoes with friends, entertaining, traveling and had a passion, along with Walt, for Square Dancing. A funeral is scheduled for Thursday October 11, 2018 at 1:00 pm. The services will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park, 4300 Imperial Ave, San Diego, CA. Services will begin in the Salli Lynn Chapel with graveside service to follow. A reception will follow at Lee and Janet’s home. Pastor David McKinney will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jo’s life.
