Joan M. Isabel's Obituary
Joan Mildred Isabel passed away at the age of 63 in San Diego, California on February 18, 2019. She was born the younger of two girls to John and Mildred Isabel on September 14, 1955. Joan was baptized Episcopalian at Saint Paul’s church now known as Saint Paul’s Cathedral. She attended San Diego High School and San Diego City College where she received an Associate’s Degree in Child Development. Joan had two sons, Tony and Jesse Isabel. Joan was a devoted mother and compassionate grandmother to their children. Joan can be described as a strong, selfless woman that had a sharp wit. She worked as a medical coder. She loved fine dining, travel, live concerts and musical theater. Her favorite music was light jazz and pop music. Joan went home to glory after she fought a good fight, ran a great race, but most of all never complained. She is survived by her life partner of 24 years, Stan George; her sons Tony and Jesse Isabel; daughter in law Katrina Isabel; grandchildren Anthony Isabel, Angel Isabel, Gavin Isabel, Mason Isabel, and Ava Isabel; as well as her sister Patricia “Patty” Lopez and a host of friends.As we trust God makes no mistakes and we lay our love one to rest, we thank God for the many acts of kindness.
