I was very impressed with Joann. She was a good friend to my mother, Daintry Robinson. My mother and I visited her in San Diego several times, and she came up to see us in Ottawa several times as well. I found Joann to be a sensitive and intelligent observer of people and politics. Her friendship helped my mother enormously. My condolences to all who feel her loss.
