My husband and I feel John was one of the most wonderful human beings we have ever met. We moved across the country from New Jersey to California and luckily moved into a house on the cul de sac where John and his family lived. He was the first one to ring our doorbell and welcome us. We will never forget his kindness. He was such a special person and his family was wonderful. Rest In Peace dear John…you deserve it!
I have so many wonderful memories of my Uncle John. Two of my all time favorites happened on my favorite holidays! When I was young we always lived within a few blocks of the McPhillips. When we lived in Huntington Beach, we went tick-or-treating at their house and were surprised when A wicked old witch parted the creepy curtains at the door. She was hunched over and had a horrible warted nose and talked in a scary voice. She looked straight out of Snow White! Of course it was really Uncle John!!
My 2nd favorite memory was when we lived in Westminster and Santa came to the house with a bag of gifts! The little kids were fooled but I knew right away it was my Uncle John!
I will always remember his big smile and his twinkling eyes and how much fun he was! ❤️
