Jorge A. Ramirez's Obituary
Jorge Alfredo Ramirez passed away at the age of 40 in San Diego, California on October 30th, 2018. He was born in San Diego on January 23rd, 1978 to Asencion Ramirez and Maria Magana. Jorge was the second son of four wonderful sons. He also had a loving step-father, Refugio Flores. He attended Hoover high school and the University Technical Institute (UTI), where he earned an Associates degree in automotive diesel. Jorge served his country 8 years in the U.S. Navy. Jorge studied in an accredited journeyman lineman apprenticeship program through SDG&E. After graduation, he began his career with San Diego Gas & Electric as a journeyman lineman. He was a member of the brotherhood local union IBEW 465.A few words to describe him: Lucianna and Savannah, his younger daughters, would say he was so proud to be a Lineman. He was an ambitious man, a provider, and he had the biggest cheesiest smiles. He was the best dad ever who was goofy and cool, nice to others, and an awesome karaoke singer.His wife says: He was the love of my life, he was never materialistic. He would take the shirt off his back if you needed it, his sweater to keep you warm and the belt off his pants to keep your pants from hanging off. If anyone ever needed anything from him, he would never hesitate to help you with his last dollar.Some of the most important events in his life were meeting his soulmate, Alice Gascon; having his daughters and his family, and becoming a linemen. His favorite hobbies were riding his bike with his kids, going to the beach, hanging out with family, having BBQ, listening to music, locating historic landmarks. He loved watching and reading US historical facts.Jorge loved music, and some of his favorite music was reggae, country, and hip-hop rap. He most loved the groups Dirty Heads, Sublime, Iration, Bob Marley, Chris Stapleton, and his favorite karaoke song was “rappers delight”.He will be missed by his family and friends who loved him. He is survived by his wife, Alicia Gascon; 5 children, Arianna, Lucianna, Savannah, Sarah and Christian; his parents, Maria Magana and Refugio Flores; and 5 siblings, Silverio Ramirez, Oscar Flores, Ceasar Flores, Myra, Jazmin; his in-laws, Jose Gascon and Maria Gascon; brother-in-law Jose Gascon, Jr., sisters-in-law Vanessa, Susanna and Jeannie Gascon.
