Jose Rosa Arballo's Obituary
Jose Arballo was born on August 30, 1929, in San Ignacio, Baja California, the son of Vicente and Modesta Arballo. Jose met the love of his life, Armandina, in Cabo San Lucas and they were married in 1950 and started a life together that would stretch over five decades. Jose was a commercial tuna fisherman and the couple moved to San Diego in 1954 and eventually settled in Chula Vista.Jose became a tuna boat captain — Commodore, Cabrillo and Kukukan — and they retired in 1987 to Cabo San Lucas, where Jose was the owner/general manager of the Vagabundos Del Mar Recreational Vehicle Park. Jose and Mayina divided their time between Chula Vista and Cabo San Lucas.They loved their children — six daughters and a son — and spending time traveling, especially to the casinos in Las vegas, Reno and throughout California, where Mayina and Jose would spend hours testing their luck.After fighting illness for several years, Mayina passed away in 2002.Jose continued to operate the Vagabundos Del Mar for years until the park was closed last year. Despite several battles against different forms of cancer, Jose continued to live a full life both in Mexico and Chula Vista.Jose is survived by three sisters: Juana Lily Arballo Arballo, Baja California, Josefina Cota of Cabo San Lucas and Maria Rosalva Arballo of New Mexico; daughters Eva Amador and husband Pablo; Rose Williams and husband Larry; Hindeliza Flores and husband, George; Josefina Garrett; Ana Banuelos and husband Joe; Maria Susanna White and husband David; and son Jose Arballo Jr. and wife Tammy McCoy-Arballo.
