Jose Luis Lopez's Obituary
Jose Luis Lopez, born January 13, 1950, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, passed away on December 26, 2025, in San Diego, California, at the age of 75.
Jose was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose kindness and dedication touched everyone who knew him. He proudly dedicated more than 38 years to Safeway, later Vons, becoming a familiar and trusted face in the community, known for his kindness, hard work, and willingness to help anyone who walked through the doors.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Lopez of Lemon Grove, CA; his son, Carlo Jose of Dublin, OH; his daughter, Monica Lopez Valles of El Cajon, CA; and his stepdaughter, Jessica Zamora Bertasso of Lemon Grove, CA. Jose also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren who brought joy to his life. Carlo Jose Lopez II, Sophia Lopez, Blake Lopez, Clarissa Lopez, Angel Cesena, Teresa Cesena, Carmine Bertasso, Gianna Bertasso. Great Grandchildren, Bradley Lopez, Corey Lopez and Diego Lopez.
In addition, he is survived by his brothers and sisters: Paul Smith, Jim Smith, David Smith, Ray Smith, Barbara Hernandez, and Rhonda Guzman, all of San Diego.
Jose will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his work, and the warmth he shared with everyone around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Services will be under the care of Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary.
