Joseph Webbs Counts, Jr. (Joe) passed away peacefully in his sleep, at his home in Lemon Grove, CA on October 21, 2015 at the age of 78.Joe is survived by his wife Aline Fox Counts and four sons, Julius, James, Jason and Jedon, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, as well as his sisters Nancy and Ethel Chrismon and brother Tommy Smith. He is preceded in death by his son Chris and brother Paul Smith.Joe was born on July 21, 1937 in Nashville, TN to Jennie Stegall and Joseph Webbs Counts, Sr. Joe joined the United States Navy in July 1955 and received an Honorable Discharge and transferred from active duty to the Fleet Reserve of the United States Navy on January 27, 1975, after 20 years of service. He and his wife Aline have resided in San Diego since then.Homegoing for Joe will be held at Greenwood Memorial on November 6, 2015 at 12:00pm. All friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Joseph W. Counts, Jr.
