Joseph Howard Gerry, known as Joey Gerry, 55, of San Diego, CA, passed away on August 15, 2019 in San Diego, CA. Joey was born on November 30, 2019 in Dallas, Texas to his mother Evelyn Holland and his father Leland Gerry.Joey attended North Grand Prairie High School in Grand Prairie, Texas. After graduation he took some college classes and began a career as a jack of all trades. He worked in various fields such as Emergency Disaster Services, Maintenance Crew, Heavy Equipment Operator, Tile installations and he was a handyman.On March 10, 2018 Joey married his beloved wife Erika Lane at the Graceland chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. His wedding day along with the birth of his daughters and grandsons was an important event in his life. His favorite hobbies included watching football, fishing, camping and watching his wife and her teammates play soccer. His favorite songs were Stairway to heaven, Simple man and Free Bird.Joey was a devoted, kind, good hearted, strong and stubborn man. He is survived and missed dearly by his wife, Erika Lane, daughters; Natasha Bontrager-Hussey, Emily Joelle Gerry, stepchildren; Patricia Broeren and Jeff Taylor- Lane, Grandsons; Noah Gibson, Ayden Joseph Deal – Hussey and Josh Ahlstrom, brothers; Donnie, Tracy, Michael, Scotty. His mother Evelyn and stepfather Austin Kenney. His closest friends; David Eric Phillips, Carla Kesler, Richard Burke and Crystal Walker.
