Joseph Michael Bua's Obituary
JOSEPH MICHAEL BUA April 19, 1946 – November 1, 2017Joe was born in Beloit, Wisconsin to proud parents, Lorraine and Vito Bua. Joe’s only sibling, Anne, came along a few years later.Joe joined the Navy in 1964 after high school graduation. Joe was carrying a rifle in country during the Vietnam Tet Offensive. He remained in the Navy until 1973 and was then discharged the day before marrying the love of his life, Sharon E. Lee. He worked for Civil Service and Convair during the next couple of years and then re-entered military service a couple of years later, retiring a Chief Petty Officer in 1987. He subsequently returned to Civil Service before retiring for good. Ill health kept them from traveling but Joe loved wood-working and building furniture for around the house.Joe and Sherry settled in Santee upon Joe’s retirement from the Navy. Joe leaves behind his wife, Sherry, his Mother Lorraine Toubl and sister Anne Bua-Demus.In August Joe was admitted to Stanford Court Nursing and Rehabilitation for care and was in residence at the time of his passing, at the age of 71.A committal service will be held in honor of Joe on Thursday, November 16th, 2017 at Greenwood Memorial Park On Evergreen lawn, commencing at 11:00 am.
