Josephine G "Fina" Chaco's Obituary
Josephine Guzman Chaco was called to rest on March 24, 2024. She was born on September 8, 1940, on the beautiful island of Guam and raised in the quaint village of Sinajana.
In her early twenties, she met the love of her life. On April 11, 1964, she married Antonio Palomo Chaco, of Agat.
Together, they had two sons, Anthony Vincent Guzman Chaco and Steven John Guzman Chaco. And shortly after, relocated to San Diego, CA, where they would spend the majority of their lives together.
Josephine was called “Fina” by most of her family and friends. She worked nearly thirty years as a type setter at various advertising companies throughout the San Diego County area. Fina was a devout Catholic and participated in a number of events sponsored or hosted by the Catholic Diocese; particularly with celebrating the mass for Saint Jude, the patron saint of her village in Guam. Fina adored, worshipped, and truly loved Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; nightly praying the Holy Rosary with her husband at their home in Menifee, CA.
She will be remembered most for her unselfish need to serve and give; most often putting others needs well before her own; and never expecting anything in return. An incredibly genuine and infectious smile reflected her loving and generous heart. Most importantly, she thanked the Lord for the opportunity to serve.
Josephine is survived by her husband of 60 years, Antonio P. Chaco; her two sons: Anthony Vincent and Steven John and spouse Sahlee Ann; six grandchildren: Steven John, Zachary Jordan, Arianna Rachelle, Breeanna, Haane, and Brandon; her sister: Gertrude “Lola” Alcazar; girls she loved as her daughters: Mae Sablan, Eloise Henson, Debbie Chargualaf, Eileen Sanchez, Helen Wonpat, Giana Matanane, Dora Brown, Amy Herbstreith, Kimberly Guzman, and Therese Falani; and countless adored God-children, cousins, nieces and nephews.
