CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF JUAN M. CORDOVA
Juan M. Cordova was born April 30, 1945 in Hermosillo, Sonora and was the third of seven children to parents Luis & Trinidad Cordova. Juan lived in Hermosillo for 28 years until following his sweetheart to the USA. Juan was married to Roberta Cordova on May 22,1974. The couple raised their family in San Diego and were active members of the community where their children attended Our Lady’s School. Juan attended trade school and began his career as a mechanic. Juan went on to work in hospitality and eventually found his way into the tech industry at Linkabit. Juan will be fondly remembered for his tenure at Qualcomm where he was part of the first 1000 employees hired; he served with great pride and joy for over 24 years before his retirement. Juan was known for being committed, loyal, loving, caring and had a great sense of humor even until the end. The most important events in Juan’s life were the birth of his children and grandchildren. In his spare time, Juan could be found enjoying soccer, playing dominoes or listening to music. Juan’s favorite musicians were Los Tigeres del Norte and his favorite song Mil Noches. Juan battled Alzheimer's for many years before passing away peacefully at home on Nov 4, 2022 surrounded by his family. Juan is survived by his wife Roberta; Children: Victor, John, Anthony, Robert & Angel; Siblings: Vicki, Rigo, Analuisa, Lulu & Luis; (14) grandchildren; (2) great grandchildren and his extended family & friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Juan Cordova’s memory to Alzheimer’s Society of San Diego.
