Judith (Judy) Ann Lincoln was born February 12, 1956, to Paul and Helen Lincoln in Saint Louis, Missouri. She passed away July 23, 2024, at the age of 68 years old in San Diego, California. She resided in San Diego for the last 45 years where she enjoyed the beautiful weather and ocean with friends and family.
Judy is survived by her brother, Jim (and Linda) Lincoln of Troy, Illinois and sister Janet (and Joseph) Lincoln Ficzner of Fishers, Indiana; nieces Tammy (and Brian) Eggemeyer, Michele (and Don) Mc Dowell, Cherina (and Robert) Todd, nephew Alex (and Katie) Ficzner. Judy is also survived by 12 great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many other beloved relatives and friends.
Judy graduated from Hazelwood High School in Missouri in 1974. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1999 and a Master of Accountancy in 2001 from San Diego State University. Her master’s thesis in accountancy from SDSU focused on the Effects of the Bush Administration Tax Cuts and Fiscal Policies on Marginalized Populations. She was a passionate Aztec fan and insisted everyone route for her alma mater in all sports!
Judy’s career included working as the Accounting Controller at Coronado Hospital, as an office manager for a legal firm and as Adjunct Professor at Mesa Community College. Judy spent the last 22 years teaching basic, financial and managerial accounting with a strong passion for students. She was dedicated to equity and helping her students who struggled with limited resources, language challenges and cultural challenges.
Judy was a committed registered Democrat and loved to discuss politics. However, in 1996 when the Republican National Convention was held in San Diego, she embraced the opportunity to be a volunteer. She was able to interact and take pictures of President Gerald Ford, Dick Cheney, Colin Powell, Newt Gingrich, Henry Kissinger, Larry King and Sam Donaldson who loved getting his picture with Judy. She also volunteered with the Official White House Traveling Press working around the clock for the Presidential Debates!
Judy was passionate about cooking and considered herself a gourmet cook with a “sophisticated palate.” Her favorite TV shows were the Food Network, and she enjoyed TV Land old time comedies, as well as the Turner Movie Classic Network. She loved to educate family and friends in detail on what movies to watch. Although she lived in an apartment, she had a large balcony full of plants and herbs. She would mail seeds to family and insist they start a garden to make the environment better.
