Judy Gray's Obituary
Judith Castro (Adamos) Gray, age 74, known to her many friends as Judy, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2015 at her home in Ft. Mohave, AZ following complications from diabetes and lupus. She was born on July 26, 1941, in San Diego and graduated from Point Loma High School. She married John William Gray on September 2, 1966 and was a devoted wife until his death in 2005. They raised two daughters, Brenda and Belinda. Judy taught swimming for many years. After being widowed she traveled often to participate in badminton and swimming tournaments and became very accomplished. She garnered numerous medals in both sports. She was a great quilter as well and had a wide circle of friends in the sewing community. Her memory will carry on through many of the quilts she made for each new family member as well as for many of her friends. Judy was available to her many friends and family to always offer any needed help. She is survived by her daughter Brenda Dennstedt and her grandchildren Catherine Gray Leathers, Matthew O’Connor, Claire O’Connor, Lianne Dennstedt and Jaimee Dennstedt. She is also survived by her brother Ralph Adamos and her sister-in-law Kathleen Gray Stevens. She was preceded in death by her husband John William Gray and her daughter Belinda I. O’Connor. Her good humor and generous nature will be missed by those of us who loved her.Services will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in the Salli Lynn Chapel, 4300 Imperial Ave, San Diego, CA 92113 on Sunday October 11th at 12 noon. A gathering will immediately follow at BJ’s Restaurant in Mission Valley, 1370 Frazee Road, San Diego, CA 92108
