With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Juila I. Christian on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. She
was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, Aunt and
longtime friend of many and will be missed by her loving family and few remaining close
friends. Julia was 94 years old and she lived a long and beautifully blessed life. Full of love,
laughter and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. She had an incredible
journey and was a wonderful mother who was always there for her eight children and many
grandchildren when they needed her the most; offering support, wisdom, spiritual guidance
and love in abundance. Julia was a friend to many who knew her. She was a cherished member
of Bethel Baptist Church and the community of San Diego where she lived, leaving behind a
legacy of kindness, and strength. Julia was predeceased by her husband (James L. Christian Sr.)
of 58 years, her mother, father and all of her siblings. She leaves behind 8 children (Jean I.
Christian Walker of Menifee, CA; Nannie B. Christian Osawa (Joni) of SD, CA; Paula L. Christian
Christopher of SD, CA; James L. Christian Jr., of SD, CA; Karen L. Christian Williams (James Sr.) of
SA, TX; Alan R. Christian of SD, CA; Patricia A. Christian, of SD, CA; and June C. Christian, of SD,
CA. In addition, she leaves behind 19 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great
Grandchild, along with a host of nieces and nephews and a few cherished friends who felt her
warmth and generosity. Without a doubt, we know where our mother is and where we all hope
to be one day. Until then, the love and memories of Julia Christian will forever remain with us.
May her legacy continue to inspire us all.
