June Franch's Obituary
June Franch embarked on her final journey Monday morning, September 19th 2016. She passed passport & security peacefully. Aged 93 1/2, she was certainly upgraded to first class seating for her travels. Mother of Dani’l Spiceley, and Grandmother to Alexandra and Lauren. June has passed on her absolute love of travel, photography, fine dining and art, to all her descendants. June was the wife of Capt. A. G. Franch. Their navy life took them to many countries and presented unique opportunities. Yokosuka Japan and Pearl Harbor Hawaii were highlights for the whole family. Final posting as Center Commander of Naval Training Center San Diego, Point Loma, was a complete honor and pleasure for them both.June was born in Phoenix Arizona, quite literally in the center of town. Appropriate, as it always held a special place for her. Born an Underwood, her relations still reside in the Phoenix area.June was a resident however of San Diego, from age 16, only interrupted by the military placements. Worked for the original San Diego Trolley. Then on to do specialist war work for Ryan.Travel always featured. It was a passion. Perhaps my move to England was the greatest gift, as 18 trips later, I think she knew it well.June will be buried alongside her Mother Myrtle, ‘Mama’. I cannot think of anyone better to lay in rest beside.June will be remembered as a truly stunning woman in her time.It was said that her first words were go-go. She surely lived up to that.
