Karl Nestor's Obituary
The family of Karl H. Nester is saddened to announce his death on November 15, 2025 at the age of 70. Karl passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his brother, Kurt Nester, his wife Cathy Nester, and two nieces; Christy Galbraith and her children, Drew and Clara; Kelly McDaniel and her children, Zechariah and Owen; and his sweetheart Penny Love.
Karl was born to Shirle and Herman Nester in San Diego on September 25, 1955. As a child, he loved going to the beach, playing with his neighborhood friends, and playing little league baseball. He graduated from Point Loma High School in 1973. He attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he studied Architecture. He also attended San Diego State University.
Karl was a creative and talented woodworker. He specialized in unique, custom designed furniture. He also successfully owned and operated his own woodworking business. His creativity though was not limited to the wood shop; he was a gifted photographer. He loved to take pictures at family gatherings and of the beach.
His family and friends have many heartfelt memories of Karl. He will be remembered as a special big brother, loving uncle, and a true, dear friend. He will be missed enormously yet will live forever in our hearts.
