Kathleen was born in National City, CA to Clifford Burns & Freda Pyle.
She lived in San Diego where her sister Alice was born. 1946 the family moved to Yoncalla, Oregon where sister Susan and brother Cliff joined the family.
In 1950 Clifford (senior) was killed in a logging accident and 1955 Freda passed away from breast cancel.
After Freda's death Alice, Susan and Cliff moved to San Diego to live with an aunt and uncle. Kathleen stayed in Yoncalla with friends to finish high school. After graduating she moved to San Diego. There she went to San Diego State College and lived on campus. She graduated from SDSC with a degree in nursing and went to work at Grossmont Hospital.
A few years later she changed course and moved to Philadelphia to get a Masters Degree as a librarian at the Drexel Institute of Technology in 1967. After graduating she went to work as the head librarian in Huntington Valley a small town outside of Philadelphia.
After a few year she was asked to move back to California to take care of our grandmother in El Cajon. After grandmother passed away she began working at the main library in downtown San Diego. She worked there until she retired in 2004. In 1982 she joined her sister Susan and brother-in-law Ernie in purchasing a home in Harbison Canyon where she lived until her health forced a move to Westmont Assisted Living.
Kathleen was always the artistic member of the family. She enjoyed china painting, making Ukrainian Easter eggs and religious icons. Also over the years she enjoyed trips to England, Turkey, Egypt, and China.
She is survived by her sisters Alice White & Susan Bennett along with her brother Clifford Burns and numerous nieces and nephews.
