Kenneth B. Gee's Obituary
Kenneth Bing Gee, a resident of San Diego, California passed peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 with his loving wife Faye by his side. He was 95 years old. Kenneth was born in Canton, China and came to America in search of the American dream when he was a teenager. He proudly served in the Air Force during World War II.He is survived by his wife of 62 years Faye, daughters Doris and Emily (Michael) and son Steven (Man Yee), and sister Kuen Hung Wong (Wayne) and family.Kenneth had an entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic running his own restaurant before finding his passion as a welder, a career that spanned 35 years. He worked for various aerospace companies in San Diego before winding up his career at US Airways (formerly PSA). It was at US Airways that he found his most rewarding work overhauling jet engines. He often received the most difficult welding jobs because of his reputation for excellent workmanship. Throughout his life, he encouraged his children to work hard, pursue higher education, and persevere.Kenneth retired to a life of leisure in 1991. He loved spending time with Faye in their beloved home where they raised their children. They created a beautiful garden which they enjoyed for many years. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with family and friends, especially hosting Chinese banquet dinners. Many enjoyed his quiet and generous heart.Funeral services provided by Greenwood Memorial, San Diego, California.The family is grateful for the kind and supportive care provided by Sharp Hospice Care.
