Kent H. Lachman's Obituary
Kent Harold Lachman passed away in San Diego, California at the end of December 2018. He was 58 years old. Kent was born in 1960 at the United States Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland to parents Richard and Mabel Lachman, both Naval veterans. He was the fourth of their five children.Kent spent much of his younger years in Redlands, California where he attended elementary and middle school. After a short period in Utah, Kent and his family moved to San Diego. There he finished high school and, in 1991, graduated with a BS degree in Business Administration – Financial Services from San Diego State University. In 1996 Kent also obtained a BS degree in Computer Information Science and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Coleman College in La Mesa, California. Kent pursued a career in both financial services and computer programming until health issues made it difficult for him to continue working.Kent was always very organized, both on the job and at home. He liked keeping up with the news, especially politics and sports. He was an avid Chargers fan. Kent also pursued interests in auto mechanics and computer programming.Kent leaves behind his two brothers, Gary and Richard Lachman (San Diego), his sister Sandy Lachman and brother-in-law Tiff Vincent (Fairbanks, Alaska), his niece Jessica Vincent Stoller and family (Portland, Oregon) and nephew Patrick Vincent and family (Austin, Texas).Though Kent coped with difficult health challenges, he maintained a positive outlook, writing to his sister, “Life is grand. Even my simple life is a beautiful thing.”A service to honor Kent’s life will be held on February 18, 2019, at 10:00am at Greenwood Memorial Park’s Salli Lynn Chapel in San Diego, followed by placement of his ashes in the Mirror Lake Cremation Garden.
