Colleen King Dukes' Obituary
On December 16, 1930, in Waco TexasGeorge Wilson King and Cordelia King (Nee Brown) welcomed Colleen as their second child.At the age of eighteen, just out of high school, Colleen chose to make San Diego her home.After two years of study at City College, she met and married A.C. McLemore who preceded her in death in 1971.In 1976 she married Robert L. Dukes, the love of her life. They were married for twenty-five and a half yeahs before his death in 2001.Colleen worked for Walker Scott Department Stores where she rose to Department Manager and later part-time Store Manager. After 15 years there, she worked for the county of San Diego until 2009.She leaves to mourn her passing, two nephews, Anthony C. Brown (Alexia) Gregory Paul Brown, two nieces, Regina Ann Mason (Raymon), Eleanor C. Brown and two grand nephews Myles Raymon Mason, Jaqua R. Raynard Brown, two grand nieces Jordan Brown and Danielle Brown, God daughters, Collette Dansby and Valarie Smith Ramiriz, (Enrique) and a host of other adopted nieces, nephews and friends.
