Lawrence W. Jarman's Obituary
Lawrence “Larry” Wesley Jarman, Jr., also affectionately known as “Brother Dear” and “Lawrence Hinkley-Winkley” and Dad was born to Dorothy Mae Thomas Jarman and Lawrence Wesley Jarman, Sr., on March 11, 1953 in San Diego, CA. Both parents preceded him in death. Larry was a native San Diegan who attended, Stockton Elementary (now King-Chavez), Gompers Jr. High School (now Gompers Preparatory Academy) and San Diego High School. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Dr. Charles H. Hampton of the Bethel Baptist Church. During his high school years, he ran track and was quite the hurdler! In 1976, Larry and his girlfriend Annette Trahan (who also preceded him in death) were blessed with a beautiful baby girl named Shalease. Throughout the years, Larry and Annette remained friends as they raised Shalease. In his early adult years, he worked as a manager for one of the local Thrifty Gas Stations and later had various jobs. Larry was very handy with diverse types of tools used in office cleaning services and construction. He also drove a forklift and assisted with other phases of construction. He could roof, drywall, plaster, install/repair electrical, plumbing, lay tile floors, and buff and wax a “mean” floor…just to name a few of his talents. He once owned a white 1965 “Low Rider” Chevy Impala and he was so, so proud of that car! It was always detailed to the max! Over the past several years, Larry’s health began to decline. On October 18, 2022, the Lord called him home. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving, devoted and dedicated sister Bonnie Jarman-Pearson (Euneal), San Diego, CA, loving, devoted, dedicated and “only” child, daughter Shalease M. Jarman, San Diego, CA, “only” grandson, De’Zhan Wesley Lee Harris and great-granddaughter Aaryn Harris, San Diego, CA, “Big” Brother Arthur Peavie, Clarksville, TN, one and only “favorite” niece Marla Robinson, Las Vegas, NV, five nephews, Kenneth Peavie (Kashmere), Virginia Beach, VA, Barrett Peavie (Michelle), Gainesville, VA, Christopher Peavie, Clarksville, TN, Joseph Robinson, San Diego, CA, Anthony Peavie (Noemi), Atlanta, GA, as well as loving cousins, extended family and whole host of cherished friends.
May flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest
