LB Letchaw's Obituary
LB Letchaw was born on September 24, 1934 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was the 3rd of 4 children born to Gabriel and Emma Letchaw. As a young man he began a career as a tire repair mechanic and continued in that profession throughout his life. He went on to run The Road Runner Giant Tire Service in San Diego, CA. He retired after a lifelong career in his chosen field. He was passionate about family get togethers, especially the annual 4th of July Family and Friends fishing events. He enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, and attending dog and horse racing events. His fishing prowess once got him written up in the newspaper for landing 50 bluegill from Otay Lakes. Mr. Letchaw is survived by his partner of 41 years, Dorothy Taylor, his four children; daughters Patsy, Julie, and Irma Jean Letchaw, and son Curtis Letchaw Sr. He is also survived by his brother, Otis Letchaw and sister, Mertis Simmons as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Fred Letchaw. Services for LB Letchaw will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary in the historic Salli Lynn Chapel on Monday June 29th beginning with a viewing at 11:00am followed by a funeral service at 12pm led by Reverend Milton Chambers of New Hope Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
