Celebrating the Life of Leah Antoinette Hernandez
Leah was born on July 9th, 2001 in San Diego, California where she lived until 22 years of age. She was the first of four children shared between her parents Marina and Javier Hernandez.
Leah attended the following schools: Logan Elementary, Laura Rodriguez Elementary,
Pacific Beach Middle School, and Mission Bay High, where she earned her High School Diploma.
Leah worked in food services as a part of the Management Team for Little Caesars Pizza. Leah was a Team Leader at the Main Street location in San Diego, California. Prior to that, she worked at the National Avenue store and worked for the company for a combined total of five years.
Leah was a lifelong resident of San Diego and had never married nor did she yet have any children.
Special friends were Roxana, Brianna, and Greg.
Leah was described as “athletic” by friends and played sports throughout her school career which included baseball for the Little League and later softball for Mission Bay High School.
Five words to describe her according to her brothers: funny, passionate, compassionate, creative, and “a striking presence.”
Most important event in Leah’s life (according to her brothers): turning 15/the preparation of her Quinceñera party, high school softball championships, high school graduation, and securing her first job at Little Caesars Pizza.
Favorite past times: hanging out with friends and family, watching tv with the family dog, Luna.
Favorite music, songs: Leah was musically diverse across the genres. She was most recently exploring more traditional styles of Mexican/Spanish music. American artists include Macklemore, and The Game’s/50 Cent’s “Hate It or Love It.”
Leah and her remaining immediate family are patrons of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Kearney Avenue in San Diego, California less than half a mile away from her family home.
