Lee Dwane Kjelland's Obituary
Lee Dawne Kjelland (92) went on to his next adventure on September 17th 2017. Lee was granted his final wish, he passed away quietly at his home with family holding his hand and his Cat and Dog lying on each side of him.He was born in Valley City North Dakota on March the 12th, 1925. As a young boy his parents moved to San Diego, California where he lived and worked until 1999 when he moved to Henderson, Nevada to be near one of his daughters ( Susan Lawrence).Lee was a Veteran of World War II as a Radioman and Tail Gunner in a Submarine Dive Bomber ( SBD).He continued to live in an Diego and worked for the Federal Government for over 30 years at North Island Naval base until his retirement in 1980.Lee was a man that could fix or build anything he put his mind to and enjoyed spending time in his garage as often as he could.He had a special love for his family and friends which was obvious by the many stories he would tell with love and laughter.Lee was pre-deceased by his wife Joyce Kjelland ,his younger brother Neal, his daughter Susan (Susie) Lawrence, his daughter Debra Symmonds, his grandson Michael Hasler and several relatives in North Dakota and many friends,Lee is survived by his daughter Marcia Duncan, grandchildren Brian Hasler, Carrie Hasler, and David Lawrence. By his great grandchildren, Gavin, Tara, Ryan, Billie, Erica, Dereck and Anna.His great, great grandson Lucas. Also by his sons-in-law Joe Lawrence and Matt Symmonds and his grand daughter-in-law Bobbi Hasler.Military Honors will be celebrated on 10/3/2017 at 2 PM at Greenwood memorial Park and Mortuary in San Diego Calif.
