Leonardo Meno Castro's Obituary
Leonardo Meno Castro, born on October 21, 1936 in Asan, Guam, entered into rest on April 28, 2020, at the age of 83. He passed away at his home in San Diego after battling a chronic illness for the past few years. He leaves behind his loving wife who was his childhood sweetheart, Julita, six beautiful children, Leona, Edward, Abraham, Mary Lou, Henry and Leonardo Jr. as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He joins his second oldest child Leonard in heaven.
Every person who knew Leonardo was touched by him, and he was a best friend to anyone he crossed paths with; from stranger, passerby, life-long friends, as a son, a brother, as a husband, father, and as an honored retired Navy Veteran. You've never wanted to smile faster or hug harder than when spending time with Leonardo. His smile was infectious and could light up any room he walked into. For his family, there was no better dad, husband, brother, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a leader in his community, a retired Navy Veteran, he attended Mass every Sunday, volunteered and worked at the Guam club and aided with hospital cleanups. He will forever be missed but never forgotten. May he rest in Eternal Peace.
Our family faces many challenges making arrangements during this time due to COVID-19, as we are having to limit funeral arrangements and celebrations to immediate family members which is further limited to 10 people only. It is with great sadness that we cannot celebrate such an amazing man like Leonardo in a traditional large funeral gathering. With loving hearts, we ask for any memories of Leonardo Castro. These memories will be cherished and shared among the Castro family.
Thank you and God Bless.
