Leticia D. Campaña's Obituary
Leticia Dominguez Campaña Aug. 24, 1939 – Jun. 7, 2021, Devoted wife of the late Teofilo Campaña, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, minister of God, and friend to many, peacefully joined our Dear Lord on June 7, 2021. She was 81 years old.
Leticia was born into humble beginnings in a quiet province of Imus, Cavite Philippines. Born to parents, Ignacio Ilano Dominguez and Marcelina Pagkatipunan on August 24, 1939. In her youth, she witnessed and survived the ravages of World War II. She is the eldest of eight siblings and two stepbrothers. She also assumed the motherly role after the absence of her mother. Throughout her lifetime, she continued to love and extend her selflessness to others.
While working in the rice fields with her “barkada” friends, she fell smitten and in love with a humble young man, Teofilo Campaña. They were married for over 50 years until he joined our Dear Lord on April 14, 2012. As a wife of a U.S. Naval Serviceman, they eventually made California their home where they raised four daughters, Catherine, Arlenda, Michelle, Deborah, and 13 grandchildren, Theodore, Joseph, Marissa, Andrew, Charles Jr., Maria, Kiara, Matthew, MaryAnn, Christina, Sean, Marilyn, and Isabelle.
Leticia was devoted to her family and also fiercely loyal to her ministry and spiritual relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. She ministered to many grateful souls she met along the way in life, helping many. She was a model for her father’s tailor clothing line, enjoyed and talented in singing, dancing, fishing, wonderful cook, a fine seamstress, a leader in her spiritual congregation organizing large community-oriented events, and welcomed others into her home. She was an entrepreneur, talented florist, and floral shop owner in National City. She was an avid collector of exotic orchids and reputed to have some of the most prized, healthy blooms.
To all who knew her, her infectious big smile and jovial laughter will be most missed.
Please join us in celebrating her life with a viewing on Monday, June 21, 2021, between 4pm — 8pm at Greenwood Memorial Park. Final service and burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Park Garden Chapel on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 10am.
