My uncle Lewis was a compassionate and caring man. While I did not see him often over the years, what I did see and hear from him has stayed with me through the intervening years. He married my aunt Jessie literally on the day of my birth and their marriage has served as one of the pillars of the family, while his humor and lack of pretense leaves a uniquely positive and indelible mark on my life.
I was out of town when Brother Rutledge passed away and missed the announcement at church last Sunday. My sincere condolences to his wife and the family. Dee Sanford
I worked with Lew for almost 20 years in the SDSU Steam and Co-Gen Plant. He was a fine man and I enjoyed being his co-worker. I know that his family including the children that he was a foster parent to will miss him. I was always impressed with his kind heart towards these children. I am sorry for his passing and will always remember the years I spent working with him fondly.
