Lillie Joyce McConkey's Obituary
Lillie Joyce McConkey “Joyce” of San Diego, California, died December 6, 2016, at 7:52 p.m., at the age of 89 and with family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen Arthur McConkey “Buddy,” her father Arvid Esterblom and mother Clara Esterblom and survived by her son, David McConkey and daughters, Sandra Fate and Linda Cole, and four granddaughters, Christina, Katie, Jennie and Ashley, and two grandsons, Richard and Shaun, two great-granddaughters, Halo and Sage, her great-grandson, Jake and her cat “Bandit.” Joyce was born in Paradise Valley Hospital, in National City on February 10, 1927 and graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1945. She married Buddy in 1949 and moved to Paradise Hills, where they began their family and both lived until their passing. Up until three weeks before her death, she was still active with her church, family, and friends, and living her life to the fullest. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Viewing will be held at Greenwood Mortuary, in the Garden Chapel on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 5-9 pm and the service, on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11:00 am, also in the Garden Chapel.
