Linda Muren's Obituary
The family of Linda Muren has entrusted Greenwood Mortuary to tend to their care. While there is an emptiness that comes with deep sorrow of losing a dear loved one, may there be healing within our hearts once more. May the legacy of Linda Muren live on through the fond memories as we remember all the grateful opportunities we had with her.
Born on May 16th, 1968, Linda was a dedicated homemaker, providing love and care as a wife and mother of two sons, Elijah & Isaiah. John and Linda were married almost 26 years. Linda was passionate about Mexican culture and received her Master's Degree in Spanish Literature from Arizona State University. She then taught Spanish at a junior college for a year or two. Later, she worked at UCSD/Scripps Institute of Oceanography at C4 (Center for Clouds, Chemistry, and Climate) and at the UCSD Supercomputer Center, initially doing various bookkeeping jobs that eventually grew to involve helping researchers comply with federal grants processes. After the children were born, her focus shifted to them, and she eventually became a stay-at-home mom full-time, being very involved in their schools as a volunteer parent. She was first diagnosed with cancer at the age of 40 after her first mammogram and fought that cancer for almost 16 years, the last 12 of those years as metastatic cancer.
Linda passed peacefully at home on January 24th, 2024, holding the hand of the love of her life. Linda leaves behind her father, Julio Yee Cabrera, her husband John, her two sons, Elijah & Isaiah, as well as two brothers, Julio Ma and Po Chuy Ma. Grief is a wave that ebbs and flows which allows us never to forget our loved one. Take your time in that journey of grief in tears, reflection, and the joy in remembering Linda Muren.
May she rest in eternal peace. Linda will be missed dearly.
