Lisa Michelle Cordova's Obituary
Our mother Lisa Meza-Cordova, 51, passed away June 19th, 2020 at Loma Linda University Hospital in Redlands, CA after complications from brain surgery.
She was born May 20th, 1969 in San Diego to Larry and Linda Meza. A few years later she was given the gift of a brother, Larry Jr. She fought a valiant battle against spinal meningitis when she was in her early teens and had to re-learn how to perform basic tasks such as walking and talking. Despite the challenges she faced, she went on to graduate from Sweetwater High School in 1987.
In February of 1989 she gave birth to a daughter, Ashley. She raised her as a single mother until she met Mike. Together they married in 1992. Shortly after, in 1993, she gave birth to her second daughter, Vanessa. Around this time, she found her passion in childcare. She opened up her own business and began caring for children from all walks of life. In 1996 she and Mike welcomed their first son, Michael Jr,into the world. 17 months later, while Mike was stationed overseas, she gave birth to their second son, Markus.
In 2000 Lisa and her family bought a house and moved to Hemet, CA. Here she continued to expand her childcare services and reach a wider array of children. Over the years she touched the lives of many families, often going above and beyond her duties as their childcare provider. She loved every child that she watched just like they were her own and was always so proud of the accomplishments they made after they had moved on from her care.
In 2015 she stepped into a role that she had prepared for her entire life— Nana. She was able to be there for the birth of her first grandson Mathew and helped welcome him into the world. 4 years later she became a grandma again to her second grandson, Mattix.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her own children and grandchildren, as well as the countless other children which she cared for. She is survived by her father Larry, her husband Mike, daughters―Ashley and Vanessa, sons―Michael and Markus, and her grandsons―Mathew and Mattix.
