Lois Helen Walker's Obituary
Lois Helen Rainwater was born on March 9, 1943 in Yuma Arizona to Doris Cobb and Walter Rainwater. During her formative years, Lois lived in Los Angeles, CA and graduated from Susan Miller Dorsey High School in 1960. After graduation, Lois and her mother Doris made San Diego, CA their home.In 1962, Alfonzo Walker found the courage to get on bended knee to propose to the love of his life, as her parents witnessed. They became one on June 9, 1962 and was married for over 57 years. From this loving union, the joy of their life, Wendy Doreen Walker was born.Lois worked for Veterans Hospital and was promoted to the position of Assistant Chief over the Sterile Processing Department. She received numerous accolades for her contribution to the mission of the agency by substantially exceeding performance requirements.Lois had a deep and abiding faith and professed her belief in our Lord and Savior, who called her home early Monday morning, September 30, 2019. She was proceeded in death by her mother Doris Cobb, father Walter Rainwater, and stepmother Julienne Rainwater. Lois is survived by her husband, Alfonzo Walker, San Diego, CA, daughter Wendy Washington (Charles), stepdaughter Thala Dunson (Eric) both of Houston,TX, sisters: Sharon Brown and Janis Harris of San Diego, CA, grandchildren Erica Dunson, Ian Dunson, Ramon Chinyoung Sr. (Morgan), Cameron Washington, and Tori Washington, Pamela Bahn and Charles Washington Jr., great grandchildren: Parker Otts-Dunson, Peyton Willis, Ramon Chinyoung Jr, and James Bahn, all of Houston, TX. She is also survived by her brothers in law: Joel Walker of San Diego, CA, John Alfred (Louise) of Denmark, TN, sisters in law: Fannie McKinley and Sophira Bradford, all of Denmark, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who truly loved and will miss her dearly.
