Al Thomas
There’s so much I didn’t get to say before you left us. So much you didn’t get to be apart of that I truly wanted for you. It hurts just writing this because I cannot express what I want on this platform, but you deserve the highest of high commemorations. You deserve so much because you did so much for a family that wasn’t truly yours. For people that didn’t share your blood directly but that you still loved as your family nonetheless.
I can’t speak for others, but what you have done for me is more than many in my family cared to do for me. You took the time out to help me in a period of my life when I was really struggling in math, and in life. You created flip books that I still have with formulas that I intended to pass down to my son to aide him when the time comes.
You taught me how to pay attention to and manage credit (indirectly). You showed me the importance of good credit and how it can take you places in life you didn’t think were attainable. You were the one that prompted me to think, “you all deserve the word! Why not build units on your properties and move to a flat and have a nice car?” But in hindsight you shunned the luxuries… but you were most certainly worthy of them all. I wish I could give you more than you received going into the next life. I love you and miss you dearly.
