Louis William Alfeld's Obituary
Louis William Alfeld, San Diego, died on March 19, 2019. Louis was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to William and Esther Springer Alfeld, graduated Central High School, class of 1946. Served with the U.S. Army in Korea, 1946-47; transferred to the U.S. Air Force, and served in the WWII Occupation Forces at Neubiberg Air Force Base, Germany as a Sergeant and crew chief on the F-47, 1948-49. Upon return from Germany, he worked in Research & Development, missile testing department, at ITT. In 1956, Louis became a Sales Representative for Remington Rand Corp. A few years later he worked as a Sales Representative for International Playtex Corp. and accepted a job transfer to San Diego, CA in 1965. Desiring to spend more time with his family, Louis attended Anthony School of Real Estate, and Mesa College; secured his rel estate license and worked for Coldwell Banker until his retirement in 1993. After retirement, Louis served the community as a volunteer for fifteen years with the San Diego Police Department’s RSVP program (Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol) from 1993 to August 2008.Louis is survived by his wife of 68 years of marriage, Lois Podell Alfeld, two sons, Louis E. Alfeld, Benicia, CA and Stanley K. Alfeld, Gilbert, AZ, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Albert, Carl, William, Walter and sisters Dora, Esther and Ruth.
