Louise Beatrice Culbert's Obituary
Our beautiful mother, Louise B. Culbert, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on April 7, 2021. Living most of her life in San Diego, Louise was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Charleston, South Carolina.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Culbert, and her brother, Wesley D. Andrews. She was a proud mother of eight children all currently living. Deborah Inman, Amanda Costner, Charles Anderson, Polly Bilger (Jeffrey), Elizabeth Ann Dusenberry (Sigurd), David John Rogers (Mary), Joseph Rogers, Jr. (Renee), and James Rogers (Kathy). She leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
Jim and Louise were world travelers. From Africa to China to Australia, no destination was too far. They loved time spent in Spain and Europe returning many times.
Living in La Mesa, Louise loved flowers and her beautiful gardens reflected that. One of her greatest joys was entertaining in her lovely home. Being a fabulous cook and gracious hostess, her dinner parties were always enthusiastically attended, forever a cherished invitation. Lovingly attended by friends and family, no one ever left the table hungry at her Lemon Circle home.
Being born and raised a Mormon, she was a proud and beloved member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, La Mesa First Congregation. She felt very blessed to carry out work in the Temple located in La Jolla.
Services will be held on May 13, 2021, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 5555 Aztec Boulevard in La Mesa, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will follow at Greenwood Mortuary at 4300 Imperial Avenue in San Diego.
Should you choose, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Elder Law Advocacy San Diego, an elder abuse advocacy group. http://seniorlaw-sd.org.
