One of the fondest memories I have of my father is him calling me "Angel" right before he was going to carry me to bed. He carried me on his back until i was too heavy. I think that's when i was 11 LOL. My father was a very special man in more ways than one. He will be dearly missed. Love you Apa.
I remember when I was about 8 years old when my father, Luis, was into making model ships. He was assembling the H.M.S. Victory, an old sail powered multi mast ship. My father asked my older sister Christine what the HMS stood for. She didn't even blink an eye when she replied, 'Huge Model Ship' Pop (and me) laughed for hours that day.
My name was Gloria Mendoza before I married. I attended St. Ann's School with Luis; we were in the same class. I write to send my condolences to the family and to say I will mention him in my prayers.
I remember my father Luis reading "2001 A Space Odyssey" to me in bed when I was 6 years old! I know he did it because he wanted to read the book. I have always loved Sci Fi since then. It WAS a little over my head at the time.
