Lupe Garcia Martinez's Obituary
Lupe Garcia Martinez, 72, from San Diego, Ca was called home by the Lord on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 3:30pm, surrounded by her children.
Lupe was born in San Diego on October 20, 1951. She had five children, Elisabeth, Joe, Cecilia, LuzOlivia and Fred. She moved to Cabazon, Ca along with her parents and her children attended school in Banning, Ca. Her children remember as they were growing up, she would make them fresh, homemade tortillas.
After her children were grown and married, Lupe was able to travel all over the world with them. Her very first airplane trip was to Germany. She loved to travel and was able to go places she never dreamed possible.
Lupe is survived by her mom, Lucy Sanchez, of Idyllwild Ca and her five children, Elizabeth Mora, of Mission Viejo, Ca, Joe Mora and wife Shana Mora, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Cecilia Touslee and husband Todd Touslee of San Marcos, Ca, LuzOlivia Burnside and husband Ronald Burnside, of Colorado Springs, Co and Fred Robles of Idyllwild, Ca. She had nine grandchildren, Elijah Burnside, Jasmine Rosadillo, Shanice McFerran, Michael Barnum, Emmanuel Mora, Christian Mora, Zion Barnum, Roman Burnside and Samara Burnside. She had six great grandchildren, Asher Fiedler, Kayson Mora, River Mora, Kehlani Diego, Keanu Diego, Nathan Diego, and two great grandchildren on the way. She had three siblings, Leo Martinez, Theresa Martinez and Maria Martinez.
Later in life, Lupe moved to Idyllwild, Ca. She enjoyed being in the mountains and loved her cats. She enjoyed listening to classical music and watching classic movies. She also loved watching scary movies and her soap operas.
Lupe was able to go stay with her eldest daughter where she enjoyed taking walks at the beach and nature trails. She loved butterflies and the outdoors.
She had several hobbies. She would knit hats and blankets and sew pillows for gifts. She loved to read books, color and do crossword puzzles. She was always so excited to FaceTime with her kids and grandkids.
Lupe will be remembered by her family for her sense of humor, her great big smile and her laugh. She loved to laugh and told her children how much she enjoyed listening to them laugh together. One of her last conversations with her children was for them not to be sad, but to be happy for her. She cherished every moment she got to spend with her family throughout the years. She was so proud of all that her children and grandchildren had accomplished. They were her pride and joy.
A celebration of life will be held in memory of Lupe, on her birthday October 20, 2023 at 3pm, by all of her children, with a special bouquet of balloons being released at the beach up to heaven in honor of her. She will forever be missed.
