Lydia Flores' Obituary
Lydia Pimentel Flores, 79, of San Diego, CA, passed away on April 10th, 2021 in Menifee, CA. Lydia was born to Roberto and Lydia Pimentel, on December 7, 1941, in Torreón, Mexico.
Lydia attended Cathedral High School and grew up in Imperial Beach, CA, where she met the love of her life James Paul Flores. Lydia and James married in 1965, and had four children, Jimmy, Loretta, Gilbert and Melissa. Lydia and James created a home and raised their family in San Diego, CA.
Lydia enjoyed going on trips with James and their kids and always knew how to have a good time. Lydia always enjoyed a full house and always welcomed others into her heart and home as if they were family.
She was a strong, independent, business woman who worked with her mother at their family restaurant, Lydia’s cafe, and then proceeded to establish her own business, Cafe Estelas in National City, CA. Lydia was a highly respected business owner at Cafe Estelas for over 50 years, where she made everyone feel like family. Family was always a priority in her heart. In addition to her four kids, Lydia had 16 grandkids and 15 great-grandkids.
She was highly devoted to her family and always made them a priority, in fact if you ever saw Lydia she was always with James, her kids or grandkids, even if it was at work. Lydia was the life of the party and never missed a family gathering, whether it was a birthday, baby shower, wedding, baptism, she was always there enjoying being surrounded by her loved ones and her favorite, Coronitas.
Lydia knew how to dress to impress, always wearing her best outfits, jewelry, and always had her hair, makeup, and most importantly her eyelashes done. She loved shopping for new outfits, painting, gardening and going out to eat, especially with her loved ones. She always embraced her mexican culture and loved to listen and celebrate to Mexican music.
Lydia was caring, loving, selfless, funny and always knew how to make you feel special in your own way. She would never forget to call on your birthday, never forgot to give anyone a gift and would always check in to make sure you were okay, she was always there when you needed her the most. Lydia Pimentel Flores was an amazing woman and will surely be missed.
