Lynnette Regina Groza was born on August 22nd, 1953 in San Diego, California to Margarette and Ulysses Smith.Lynn grew up in San Diego and was a fun loving child, who enjoyed playing dress up in her mother’s heels and hats, having tea parties with her dolls and hanging out with her cousins. Lynn loved being with family and spending time on annual road trips, holiday get-togethers and special occasions.Lynn attended Catholic schools from grammar school through high school where she attended University of San Diego High School. In high school, she was known for her smile and well-liked by her classmates. Lynn had a genuine interest in business and decided to study business and real estate following graduation from high school, her interest and desire to learn allowed her to excel in both areas long after her academic studies.Lynn met her sweetheart, Dion Groza over 37 years ago and they were married for over 36 years, with August 16th being their anniversary. Lynn loved Dion and dedicated her life to making sure he was happy, entertained and of course well fed. Lynn was a loving caring, attentive and humble wife and caregiver to her husband, always putting his needs ahead of hers. Lynn and Dion had many adventures from trips to Las Vegas, to traveling to Montana to meet a niece from Romania to rebuilding cars, tv, and even computers together with each using their strengths to get the job done and right.Lynn was blessed with three daughters; Seher, Zarah, and Sarah though she was “Mom” to many more who she adopted over the years. Lynn was a caring, loving, and selfless mother, always ensuring her children were taken care of and above all loved and acknowledged by her. Lynn had a beautiful heart, and gave all she could physically, mentally, financially, and emotionally to her children and their friends, as their happiness made her happy and fulfilled. Lynn loved her children and was very proud of each of them for their achievements in life and career, and it showed when she would get excited telling others about them.Lynn was a great listener, and was the type of person who was always there if you wanted to talk or needed anything, she would not rest until everyone was attended to, even if it meant she would be affected down the road. Lynn’s heart was large and beaming with love for all, she was indeed mom to all and, if you came by the house to visit, she’d make sure you had something to eat and place sleep if you needed it. Lynn was a great baker and known for her delicious secret recipe cupcakes and frosting, her potato salad, and homemade tacos.Lynn loved technology and was known for working on her laptop and iPhone, multitasking between Facebook and emails. Lynn loved using social media to share photos, events, videos, and updates with friends and family. Lynn enjoyed learning from others and sharing what she learned, and the internet and social media made her arm reach all the greater reaching across the world to family and friends in Europe and Middle East.Lynn was a phenomenal woman, mother, friend, voice of reason and so much more to everyone she knew, met and interacted with. In life, she asked for so little and gave so much of herself to everyone. More than anything, Lynn loved he her family and wanted every branch of the family tree to meet, get to know each other and have a good time together. From the annual family camping trips to family reunions at Mission Bay, Lynn loved organizing events and seeing generations connect, smile and laugh together.Lynn was a wonderful human being, not just because she helped others, or because she went without so that others could have, but because she loved God and lived her life each day ensuring that she was a good servant to him. Lynn loved God and in her smile you could see his love for her, it was clear that God loved her so much more that he called her home to rest in his arms.
