Majoiree Johnson's Obituary
Majoiree Johnson of San Diego, CA, passed away on June 30th 2024 after a brief battle with a stroke. Majoiree was born on March 22nd 1938 to Dee and Christine Mckenzie in Chidester, Arkansas. After graduating Salutatorian of her class at Pleasant Hill High School, Majoiree went on to study at the faith based liberal Arts school of Shorter college in Little Rock, Arkansas. In1957 Majoiree met Dr. Lawrence E. Johnson, and they wed. They raised three sons, Lawrence Jr, Wendell, and Maurice. Majoiree has three grand children, McKenna, Brooks and Miles Johnson. Majoiree worked as a nurse in the Infant Special Care Nursery department of Kaiser Permanente for over 30 years. On May 2nd of 1996 she was honored with letters from United States senators Dianne Feinstein, Barbra Boxer, and San Diego Alumna Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority for for her guidance and commitment to children. She received a certificate of recognition from California State Senator Steve Peace for her community services work in San Diego. Majoiree and Lawrence were members of Linda Vista Baptist church. Majoiree was also a member of the Bayview Baptist church’s nurse division. Majoiree was a member of the San Diego Chapter Silhouettes of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Majoiree excelled at propping up her family and supporting them through the passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether it was supporting through adversity or giving help to the unsheltered. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others. Majoiree was a passionate Christian and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found with her husband of 65 years, fishing Lake Morena, filling their baskets with blue gills, crappies, and catfish. We will miss her greatly. Majoiree was predeceased by her son Wendell Johnson. She is survived by Dr. Lawrence E. Jonson, Lawrence Jr, and Maurice Johnson. Interment for Majoiree will be held at 2pm at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego,CA 92122, Committal Shelter B There will be a celebration of life at the Encore Event Center, July 24th from 2- 5pm.
