Manuel Mojarro Soto's Obituary
Manuel Soto Sr., passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on March 17, 2024, at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California.
Manuel was born on November 1, 1940, in Compostela, Nayarit Mexico. Manuel, his two sisters and mother moved to Tijuana B.C. at a young age and later as an adult Manuel immigrated to San Diego, California.
He married his wife Esther Reynoso on April 2, 1977, and had two children. Manuel worked in the Automotive industry and retired from Mercedes Benz at the age of 70.
Manuel will be remembered for the joy he had being with his grandchildren, friends and family. He was known for starting conversations with strangers and making new friends everywhere he went. He loved listening to Rock and Roll music, his favorite singer was Elvis Presley along with the Rolling Stones and The Beatles. His favorite pass-time was watching old western movies starring John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. He loved to include movie quotes in his daily conversations. His dream was to hit the Super Lotto jackpot and to pay off his family and friend’s debts. Seemed like he had big plans for all the millions he was going to win someday.
He would like to go to the local casinos with his wife, Mother In-Law and Sister In-Laws, mostly for the food court, conversations with strangers and to just get out of the house. He always made time to watch his favorite soccer team Cruz Azul and the Mexican National team. He was a huge boxing fanatic and always talked about the great Julio Cesar Chavez and Canelo and he always kept up on all the world boxing news. He loved the Horse Races and betting on the winning horses at the Caliente and Del Mar Racetracks.
Manuel is survived by his Wife Esther R. Soto of 47 years, two children Manuel Soto Jr. and Juliana Soto, daughter in-law Sabrina Soto and three grandchildren, Enrique Soto, Darin “Niko” Soto and Jaelyn Soto. He is also survived by his five siblings.
Manuel will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Now that Manuel has passed into the arms of our Lord, his physical life on earth is over but it is the beginning of a beautiful journey of eternal life for him.
