Margaret Kathryn Blue's Obituary
Margaret Kathryn (Linn) Blue June 15, 1934 – August 9, 2016. After a courageous battle of cancer, Margaret passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in San Diego surrounded by friends and family.Margaret was born in Seattle, Washington. Margaret and her family lived in Aberdeen, WA where she was raised. She attended Marylhurst University. She went on to receive her masters and worked towards her doctorate degree in library science. She continued working and teaching at various universities and libraries in Washington and Oregon. She met her future husband Richard Blue while teaching a library science class at SDSU in California. She worked over 25 years at Chula Vista Public Library.Margaret found great strength in her Catholic religion. She volunteered at historical and archive societies. She enjoyed literature, traveling and took classes throughout her life, always wanting to learn something new.Margaret was one of two children born to the late Robert Donald Linn and Emrose Catherine Linn and was the wife to the late Richard Rogers Blue for over 40 years. She was also preceded in death by her brother Donald Linn. Margaret will forever be remembered by her two children Helena Charters (Mrs. Timothy Charters) and R. Robert Blue, and the Charters grandchildren Kyra, Kylie, Krystal, Ryan and Jayden.Margaret touched the lives of many people with her kindness and generosity of friendship to all that knew her. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church 2014 Sunset Cliffs Blvd., San Diego, CA 92107 followed immediately by a memorial service Services at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, August 16. Viewing will be August 15th from 4-8 p.m.at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery 4300 Imperial Ave, San Diego, CA 92113.
